PLANET IGS-820TF-PN Compact Industrial 6-Port 10/100/1000T and 2-Port 1000X SFP PROFINET Switch is designed for industrial use, featuring 6 auto-negotiation 10/100/1000BASE-T RJ45 ports and 2 1000BASE-X SFP interfaces. It supports backward compatibility with 100BASE-FX transceivers, is housed in an IP30-rated rugged but compact case, and is equipped with a wide-ranging redundant power system (9~48V DC or 24V AC). The IGS-820TF-PN is capable of operating in harsh environments with a temperature range from -40 to 75 degrees C

 PROFINET Traffic with Higher Delivery Priority

The IGS-820TF-PN is specially designed to support PROFINET Conformance Class A (CC-A), providing industrial users with reliable and real-time Ethernet communication in automation networks, making it ideal for use in factory automation and control applications. It features an enhanced function that recognizes PROFINET traffic and assigns it higher delivery priority. Upon detecting PROFINET packets, the IGS-820TF-PN forwards them first before processing other Ethernet traffic. With this capability, the IGS-820TF-PN becomes an ideal industrial unmanaged switch for ensuring fast and efficient PROFINET communication. 

 


Fiber-Optic Link Capability Enables Seamless Extension of Network Deployment

The IGS-820TF-PN is equipped with two 1000X SFP Gigabit Ethernet ports that support dual-speed functionality, compatible with both 100BASE-FX and 1000BASE-SX/LX SFP (Small Form-factor Pluggable) fiber-optic modules. These ports feature auto-detection, allowing administrators to flexibly select the most suitable SFP transceiver based on the required transmission distance or speed. This adaptability ensures efficient network extension, with transmission distances ranging from 550 meters to 2 kilometers using multi-mode fiber, and up to 10/20/30/40/50/60/70/120 kilometers with single-mode or WDM fiber.

 

The fiber-optic uplink capability guarantees high throughput to all connected nodes and extends the network over long distances, making it ideal for uplinking to monitoring centers or aggregation switches or monitoring centers. Whether implementing FTTH (Fiber to the Home), FTTC (Fiber to the Curb), or FTTB (Fiber to the Building) solution, the IGS-820TF-PN simplifies the process for both ISPs and enterprises. Its robust design and secure topology enable it to handle large volumes of data seamlessly, connecting to metro or aggregation switches with ease.

 

Efficient Power Management for Industrial Applications

The IGS-820TF-PN incorporates advanced green networking technologies aligned with ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) principles. It supports link-on cable length power-saving and link-down energy conservation modes. These mechanisms help the switch optimize power consumption during operation without sacrificing performance.

 

Even under full-load conditions, the IGS-820TF-PN maintains competitive power efficiency for an unmanaged industrial switch with dual SFP uplinks. By adopting IEEE 802.3az Energy Efficient Ethernet (EEE), the device can dynamically adjust power usage based on network traffic and cable link status. This enables lower energy use during periods of reduced activity, making it a reliable and energy-conscious choice for automation networks and smart factory deployments.

 

Dual Power Input for High Availability Network System

The IGS-820TF-PN features a strong dual power input system with wide-ranging voltages (9V~48V DC or 24V AC) to enhance system reliability and uptime in automation networks. For example, if power supply 1 fails, the hardware failover function is automatically activated to power the IGS-820TF-PN through power supply 2, ensuring uninterrupted operation.

 

 

 High Switch Performance

The IGS-820TF-PN delivers high-performance switch architecture, with 6 Gigabit Ethernet ports and 2 SFP interfaces providing non-blocking switch fabric and wire-speed throughput as high as 16Gbps. Its 4K MAC address table supports wire-speed packet transfer without packet loss. The flow control function further ensures fast and reliable data transfer for demanding industrial applications.

 

Plug and Play

All RJ45 copper interfaces in the IGS-820TF-PN support 10/100/1000Mbps auto negotiation for optimal speed detection through RJ45 Category 6, 5, or 5e cables. The auto-MDI/MDI-X feature allows seamless connection to any Ethernet device without requiring special straight-through or crossover cables. Additionally, the IGS-820TF-PN includes 2 1000BASE-X SFP interfaces that provide flexible and reliable fiber-optic connectivity for long-distance, high-bandwidth applications. It supports Plug and Play SFP module installation with hot-swap functionality, allowing users to easily add or replace SFP modules without disrupting system operations. These features ensure versatile and uninterrupted network deployment in diverse industrial environments.

The compact design of the IGS-820TF-PN makes it ideal for narrow environments, such as wall enclosures. It supports both wall mounting and DIN-rail installation, ensuring flexibility and convenience in space-constrained locations.
